Getting Started

Do I need experience in garage remodeling or construction?
No experience required. Our training program teaches you everything — from quoting and sales to project management and installation oversight. Many of our most successful affiliates came from corporate sales, real estate, or completely unrelated fields. What matters is your willingness to learn and follow the playbook.
How long does it take to launch my business?
Most affiliates go from signing to their first project in 4–8 weeks. This includes completing training, setting up your vendor accounts, getting your business registered, and running your first marketing campaigns. Some affiliates who already have a business infrastructure in place have launched even faster.
What does the application process look like?
It's a five-step process: an introductory call where we learn about your goals, a documentation review so you understand the model, an operations deep dive where we answer your tough questions, an executive confirmation call to finalize details, and then launch. The whole process typically takes 2–3 weeks, and there's no pressure at any stage.
Can I start this part-time while keeping my current job?
Yes — several of our affiliates started part-time and transitioned to full-time as revenue grew. The first few months will require hustle regardless, but you can schedule estimates and oversee installations around your current commitments. That said, the affiliates who go full-time from the start tend to ramp up faster.

Money & Investment

What's the total investment to get started?
The total startup investment is approximately $27,500, which includes a $24,500 initiation fee, roughly $2,000 in basic tools and equipment, and about $1,000 for business registration and initial setup. We also recommend having working capital set aside for your first 2–3 months of marketing and operating expenses.
Are there any ongoing royalties or fees?
Zero. No royalties, no marketing fees, no technology fees, no minimums — ever. The initiation fee is a one-time payment. Every dollar you earn after that is yours. This is one of the core differences between our model and a traditional franchise, where you'd typically pay 8–15% of gross revenue in ongoing fees.
How much can I realistically earn?
Revenue varies based on your market, effort, and number of projects. A typical garage project generates $2,000–$10,000+ in revenue, with healthy margins. Affiliates doing 4–6 projects per month are generating strong six-figure annual revenue. Use our ROI calculator on the homepage to model your specific scenario.
When will I start making money?
Most affiliates close their first project within 30–60 days of launching. How quickly you reach profitability depends on your overhead, marketing investment, and hustle. Because there are no royalties eating into your margins, more of each project's revenue stays in your pocket from day one.
Do you offer financing for the initiation fee?
We don't offer direct financing, but our initiation fee is a fraction of what franchise systems charge ($100K–$300K+), so it's accessible through personal savings, a small business line of credit, or other standard funding sources. We're happy to discuss options during our introductory call.

Running the Business

Do I have to install everything myself?
No. Many of our affiliates manage the business side — sales, estimates, project management — and hire installation crews or subcontractors for the physical work. Others prefer a hands-on approach, especially early on. Our training covers both models.
What kind of training and support do I get?
You get a comprehensive playbook covering sales, quoting, vendor sourcing, project management, marketing, and operations — all refined from 30+ affiliate launches. On top of that, you get group coaching calls, direct access to our team, and a community network where members share what's working in their markets.
Am I locked into a territory?
No. Unlike franchises that restrict you to a specific zip code or territory, our model lets you go where the demand is. If a neighboring area has opportunities, you're free to pursue them. No artificial boundaries limiting your growth.
What vendors and products will I use?
We've negotiated group discounts with top-tier suppliers for slatwall systems, cabinetry, epoxy flooring, and storage accessories. You benefit from these preferential rates, but you're never locked into mandatory vendors. If you find a better deal or prefer a different product line, you're free to use it.
How do I get customers?
Our playbook covers digital marketing (Google Ads, Local Services Ads, social media), local strategies (referral programs, realtor partnerships, neighborhood marketing), and sales processes. Most affiliates find that a combination of digital ads and referral-based marketing generates consistent lead flow within the first 60 days.

Ownership & Freedom

Do I own my business, or am I licensing a brand?
You own your business 100%. Your company name, your domain, your customer list, your brand — it's all yours. This is fundamentally different from a franchise, where you license someone else's brand and can lose everything if you leave.
What if I want to leave? Are there exit fees?
No liquidation fees, no exit penalties, no non-compete clauses. If you decide to go a different direction, you take your business, your brand, and your customer list with you. Compare that to franchise models where exiting can cost $200,000+ in liquidation fees.
Is this a franchise?
No. This is intentionally not a franchise. We call it a Shared Infrastructure Model. You get the benefits that make franchises attractive — proven playbooks, training, vendor relationships, community support — without the parts that make them problematic: ongoing royalties, rigid control, and one-sided contracts.
Can I sell my business later?
Absolutely. Because you own your business outright — your name, your brand, your customer base, your domain — you can sell it anytime for whatever it's worth. No transfer fees, no franchisor approval needed, and no restrictions on who you sell to.

How We're Different

Why not just start on my own without Organized Garage?
You absolutely can. But the learning curve is real. You'd spend months figuring out vendors, pricing, installation techniques, and marketing strategies through trial and error. With OG, you skip the expensive mistakes and start with a battle-tested playbook, negotiated vendor pricing, and a community of 30+ affiliates sharing what works.
Why not buy a franchise instead?
The short version: franchises cost $100K–$300K+, charge 8–15% in ongoing fees, restrict your operations, and lock you into contracts with six-figure exit costs. With OG, you invest $27,500 once, keep 100% of your revenue, and own everything you build. The math isn't even close.
What makes your playbook different from YouTube and free resources?
YouTube can teach you how to install a slatwall. It can't teach you how to build a profitable business around it. Our playbook covers the entire business system — refined through 30+ real affiliate launches. Not theory, not generic advice, but proven systems that work in the field.
